Prenatal Care

If you suspect you are pregnant or have a positive home pregnancy test, it is time to schedule an appointment with our physicians. The doctor will confirm the pregnancy and conduct a general physical exam to determine your general level of health. The doctor will determine a due date for your new baby. At this time any risk factors or concerns for a healthy pregnancy will be assessed.

Prenatal vitamins and optimal nutrition are an important part of your pregnancy and the doctor will establish a plan to address this. Managed weight gain is one of the most important parts of a healthy pregnancy and having the doctor guiding you through this process will be highly important.

A schedule of tests and exams from the point that pregnancy is confirmed and after your delivery will be made. It is recommended that you visit the doctor every four weeks until you are 32 weeks pregnant. From 32 to 36 weeks it is recommended you visit the doctor every two weeks, and from there once per week until you deliver.
